Surrender to the moment, to your power and your beauty.
Surrender does not mean to give up. It means to let go. Letting go of struggle, (self-) doubt, insecurity; letting go of whatever we might be holding on to that might not serve us anymore. Letting go frees us to be our true self, present in the here and now and enjoy what is in the moment. Sometimes that moment teaches us a lesson, which needs to be learnt, sometimes it helps us become stronger, sometimes it allows us to simply relish the beauty of life, sometimes it is our moment to shine. Whatever the moment – make it a moment worth living by being present and truly experiencing it.
Yoga teaches us to be in the moment, to tune in, to become aware and to be ok with what is. The next time you make it to your mat, whether it being physical (asana – pose and posture) practice, or mental practice such as meditation, give surrendering a go and you might feel a shift within.
Even Thich Nhat Hanh says: “Letting go gives us freedom, and freedom is the only condition for happiness. If, in our heart, we still cling to anything – anger, anxiety, or possessions – we cannot be free.”
